Commercial Lines Pricing Actuary – Planning and Rate Adequacy Lead
This role will involve the development and ongoing maintenance of a suite of the commercial lines planning and rate adequacy processes. This will require technical development skills in Excel, and SAS and an in-depth knowledge of Commercial Lines products.
The role will also require significant stakeholder management with the Lead engaging with the Portfolio, Underwriting, Finance and Data functions to scope and develop optimal solutions. From time to time the role may require provision of assistance to other areas of Pricing focus. The role will report directly to the Head of Commercial Lines Pricing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ongoing operation, maintenance and development of the Commercial Lines Planning loss ratio processes.
* Developing and maintaining a suite of Commercial Lines price adequacy processes.
* Development and mentoring of more junior team members.
* Assisting or advising on other areas of Commercial Lines Pricing focus potentially including but not limited to:
* Contributing to the development, maintenance and improvement of existing rating algorithms and platforms.
* Quarterly analysis and report on profitability for nominated classes of business.
* Analysing information to identify variances, trends, anomalies, etc and explain, highlight and/or refer relevant issues to others as appropriate.
Requirements:
* 10 years work experience in General Insurance. Significant previous experience in Commercial Lines Pricing is highly desirable.
* Mathematical or statistics 3rd level qualification or equivalent.
* Fellow of the Society of Actuaries or equivalent (Good candidates who have significant relevant experience will also be considered).
* Very advanced knowledge of Excel and SAS (or similar applications).
* Ten years work experience in General Insurance. Significant previous experience in Commercial Lines Pricing is highly desirable.
