Position :
Glass Lewis is seeking an experienced and highly-motivated lawyer to join our legal department, based out of one of our European locations (Amsterdam, London, Dublin or Limerick).
As Assistant Corporate Counsel, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Legal and Compliance department on a variety of general legal matters for the company and its worldwide subsidiaries, focused on our European business and regulatory compliance This position reports to the Chief Legal Officer.
Responsibilities:
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial agreements such as client agreements, service agreements, and non-disclosure agreements Identifying potential legal risks in contracts and potential business relationships and advising on mitigation strategies Assisting in the drafting, maintenance, and implementation of contract templates and company policies and procedures Monitoring and tracking new legislation and changes to existing laws and regulations relevant to the company's operations, globally and with a focus on the European Union, including privacy laws, GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act), and other similar regulations Analyzing and supporting compliance with various European Union regulatory requirements, including privacy, data protection, and operational resilience mandates Assisting in conducting legal research on a variety of legal topics, with an emphasis on regulatory compliance Supporting the preparation of reports and presentations created by the legal and compliance team for internal and external stakeholders Providing legal support, as needed, on a variety of other legal matters for the company and its affiliates, in various jurisdictions Working closely with other departments, such as compliance and sales, to provide legal support and ensure alignment with business objectives and company requirements Requirements Qualifications and Experience: A degree in Law from a reputable university, with strong academic performance 3-4 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with a reputable law firm or in-house corporate legal team, with a practice focused on commercial and corporate matters Solid understanding of European Union law and regulations Direct experience working across jurisdictions and time zones, with practical knowledge of cross-border legal issues Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential; French language skills are a plus, but not required Excellent research, and written and oral communication skills Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality Ability to work independently while being a team player with a positive attitude Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of regulatory environments in the financial service sector This role offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your legal expertise while contributing to a company committed to excellence and innovation.
