EHS Manager County Kilkenny Exciting opportunity to join a leading business in the animal nutrition space. Environmental, Health & Safety Manager - will be a capable and dedicated individual who has experience in the sector. Reporting to the CEO, the successful candidate will be responsible for directing and leading the environmental function on the site and to ensure compliance with the highest standards of environmental; health and safety (EHS) across all sites. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with drive and ability to work on own initiative and in cross functional teams to come to agreed conclusions in a fast-paced environment. The successful individual will have the following: 5 years+ experience in EHS with ideally 2 years in a managerial role OR an individual with Food (or similar) industry experience who returned to college to do an EHS qualification Third level qualification in EHS. Knowledge of design, implementation and operation of ISO 14001 and 45001 management system standards. Able to challenge and influence at all levels in an objective and constructive manner. Demonstrate CPD IOSH / IEMA / IIRSM. Possesses effective engagement, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills. Strong logical, organisation and communication skills and experience leading and motivating. Driving licence required (travel required to other sites from time to time) Working on an EPA IEL licensed site, duties will include: EHS Compliance (c. 65% of workload) Audits: Conduct regular site inspections, EHS audits, and internal reviews to ensure adherence to EHS standards. Leading and coordinating audits and visits by certification bodies, regulatory bodies and external bodies. Risk Management: assess potential EHS risks and hazards and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with management on EHS improvements, applying continuous improvement methodologies. Documentation and Analysis: Maintain detailed documentation and perform statistical analysis to drive data-informed EHS initiatives and CI. Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents and incidents, ensuring that corrective actions are tracked to completion. Continuous Improvement (CI): Supporting a culture of CI with a focus on Company and regulatory body needs. Communications: Ensuring all EHS communications are dealt with and closed out in a timely manner. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to integrate EHS protocols into daily operations and projects. Stakeholder Management: Ensure the Company maintains an effective working relationship with regulatory bodies, the local community, and other interested stakeholders, taking any opportunity to enhance these working relationships. Environmental Working with site management to ensure the Environmental Management System policies are aligned with the IEL and EMS requirements of the site. Managing the operations of an Integrated Construction Wetlands (ICW) in line with IEL requirements. Health and Safety Advisory Role: Act as health and safety advisor, providing expert guidance and support to colleagues at all levels. Promote Safety Culture: Lead by example to instil a zero-harm mindset across all teams, in line with our EHS policies.
