Senior Accountant
Are you a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) looking to progress your career with a global provider of insurance and financial services products?
This highly flexible role requires attendance at the office minimum once per week, offering a unique opportunity to gain experience in both financial accounting and Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A).
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete the month-end process for expenses, including reconciling financial ledgers and source data, while meeting group reporting requirements.
- Analyze actual expenses against budgets and forecasts to ensure targets are met, identifying and reporting any surplus or deficit in a timely manner.
- Prepare reports, KPI analysis, and presentations for various stakeholders and committees.
- Develop budgets as part of the annual planning cycle.
- Maintain strong working relationships with business partners and stakeholders.
- Support the finance manager in tracking productivity initiatives.
- Continuously review and update procedures to ensure they remain current, complete, and in line with best practices.
- Evaluate and propose improvements to automate processes, enhancing efficiency, quality, and accuracy.
- Assist and provide mentorship to junior team members.
Required Experience:
- Hold a professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA).
- Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Strong technical accounting experience.
- Demonstrated experience of coordinating and delivering highly accurate output in an environment of multiple deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge in Excel, including building formulas, using pivot tables, formatting, and manipulating data, working with large data sets, VBA's, Macros etc.
- Proven ability to manage and complete a variety of projects simultaneously.
- Prior experience within a financial services environment.
- Working knowledge of insurance accounting.
- Prior General Ledger experience - SAP.
