Production EngineerPrimary FocusThe successful candidate will play a crucial role in the Manufacturing department at JCI. The incumbent will work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders and departments to execute all aspects of a variety of challenging and innovative projects.Specific AccountabilitiesProvide technical design support to senior supervisors within the production and manufacturing department.Lead project execution initiatives.Communicate and interact effectively with all internal clients.Offer day-to-day technical and engineering support to the operating areas.Assist in planning, designing, installing, and maintaining machinery and equipment in the operating areas.Provide technical support and troubleshooting for production issues related to equipment, processes, quality, controls, and systems.Support the development of new and innovative product lines and refine existing products.Engage with production teams and conduct periodic inspections of units under construction.Participate in continuous product improvement efforts.Contribute to various business aspects, including estimating, business development, and production enhancements.ScopeManage a workload consisting of multiple projects with overlapping deadlines independently.Collaborate with senior staff for the execution of projects and orders.Efficiently manage and execute work tasks and projects.ContactsWork both independently and as part of a departmental team to execute diverse projects while interacting with other engineering disciplines and trades to meet project requirements.Working ConditionsWork in both a manufacturing plant and office environment.Occasional travel to field worksite locations may be required, necessitating Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Some travel may be necessary.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc. Eng. or B.Eng.).A minimum of 5 years of related experience in production or similar industries.Experience in HVAC design is beneficial, including knowledge in equipment and system selection, design, and control; additional experience in metal fabrication and/or manufacturing is a plus.Strong commitment to continuous improvement and effective prioritization skills.Demonstrated leadership capabilities; Six Sigma training is encouraged.Proficient in drafting using AutoDesk products (AutoCAD and Inventor) with knowledge of proper drafting standards and practices.Exhibit confidence and tact in all interactions with clients and colleagues.Ability to engage positively with external clients.Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.Strong organizational skills and a self-starter mentality with the ability to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines.Commitment to continuous technical learning and personal development, both self-directed and guided by others.Diligent attention to detail.Ability to perform well under occasional stressful situations with tight deadlines.Ability to lead and direct the work of team members.Proficient in integrating new technologies into machines.Skilled in collaborating with clients, vendors, and various departments across multiple disciplines.Strong work ethic and a positive team attitude.Proven experience in managing large projects, including overseeing project budgets.Practical experience in risk management, product design and testing, estimating, and project management.
