NoOffer DescriptionApplications are invited for two temporary posts of EDIH Senior Data Scientist within UCD School of Computer Science - CeADAR: Ireland's Centre for AI.The EDIH programme for AI is focused on supporting small and medium enterprises, and public service organisations, on their transition to digital and AI technologies.CeADAR is seeking 2 experienced individuals who will support the Test-before-Invest pillar and who have a demonstrated successful track record in data science in industrial research settings (>6 years) or academic centres. Individuals for this role are expected to have proven experience applying artificial intelligence, machine learning, computational statistics, and statistics to specific problems, particularly in areas such as deep learning, graphical models, reinforcement learning, computer vision, natural language processing and data representation. The ideal candidates will have a keen interest in contributing to the development of proof of concepts to allow companies to leverage the benefits of state-of-the-art AI algorithms.Salary Range: €64,000 - €75,000 Per AnnumAppointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.Closing date: 12:00 noon (local Irish time) on the 5th of March 2025.Applications must be submitted by the closing date and time specified. Any CVs submitted by Recruitment Agencies will be returned.Eligibility CriteriaMandatory Criteria:MSc in Computer Science or another relevant numerical field.Minimum of 6 years' experience developing applied data science (machine learning) solutions.Experience of working in/with industry with practical exposure to solve real-world challenges using NLP, ML, and LLM.Experience with conversational Retrieval Augmented Generation and frameworks e.g. LangChain, Llama Index, Multi Agent, Langsmith.Experience with multi-modal data applying Computer Vision, and Predictive Analytics.Experience fine-tuning models using frameworks such as Keras, TensorFlow, Pytorch.Strong software development skills using Python and other languages.Strong database skills and data pre-processing techniques.Experience in Linux and in the use of docker containers and API development.Experience scoping requirements, identifying novel proofs-of-concept, and estimating effort.Experience developing prototypes and delivering to deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience of writing technical reports.Travel requirements to present technical outputs and progress in project meetings and events.Candidates must demonstrate an awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion agenda.
