We are looking for a Microbiology Technician in Newbridge Industrial Estate, Athgarvan Road, Kilbelin, Newbridge W12W951 IRL. Your mission will be to:
You will join our team as a Laboratory Technician in the microbiology laboratory, where you will be given excellent training and development opportunities. This is an excellent opportunity to join our expanding team and build your career!
* To perform tasks as allocated by the Laboratory Manager/Supervisor to the highest standards of quality required and inform the Laboratory Manager/Supervisor in cases of doubtful validity of results.
* To manage the day-to-day implementation of Mérieux NutriSciences’ Quality Management System ensuring compliance with ISO 17025, Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB), Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM), Retailer Supplementary Audit Scheme (RSA) & company requirements.
* Responsible for ensuring that daily checks on balances/temperature are carried out and that all forms are filled out appropriately.
* Be responsible for good housekeeping standards including proper preparation and segregation of pathogenic samples.
* Responsible for health and safety within the laboratory and escalate any issues to senior management.
* To be a part of the Proficiency Testing (PT) programme as required by the Deputy/Quality Manager, ensuring that PT samples are analysed in a timely manner.
* Escalate any issues related to health and safety, resources or equipment to senior management.
* Responsible for carrying out Internal Quality Control testing, performance and trending and spiked samples.
* To ensure that all results obtained are calculated, checked and entered in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) without delay.
YOUR PROFILE
* Minimum of 1 year’s experience within a laboratory environment during college or in a work environment.
* The ideal candidate must have a minimum bachelor’s degree in microbiology, chemistry, food technology and/or other related science.
* Understanding and training completed in the Aseptic technique.
* Solid communication skills for creating interactive relationships with all teams.
* Positive, “can-do” attitude and a willingness to learn.
* Customer and employee-focused.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines.
* Entrepreneurial spirit and problem-solving skills.
