About the Role
Morgan McKinley is seeking an experienced Senior IT Programme Manager to join this high-profile public sector organisation undergoing major change and transformation.
This role will focus on delivering a key project within public sector transport, managing large-scale programmes with multi-million-euro budgets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the successful delivery of key projects, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and stakeholder expectations.
2. Manage stakeholder relationships across public sector organisations, transport bodies, and vendors to ensure seamless collaboration.
3. Oversee vendor management, ensuring third-party suppliers meet project deliverables, SLAs, and contractual obligations.
4. Take full ownership of budget management, ensuring programme spend aligns with forecasts and financial targets.
5. Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks, ensuring robust risk management frameworks are in place.
6. Provide comprehensive reporting and documentation, delivering clear updates on progress, challenges, and resolutions to senior stakeholders.
7. Ensure adherence to project governance frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
Key Requirements
* Minimum 10 years of project/programme management experience in IT-related transformations.
* Proven expertise in stakeholder management, including liaising with government agencies, external partners, and technical teams.
* Strong vendor management experience, with a track record of managing multiple suppliers in complex IT environments.
* Extensive experience in budget management, overseeing multi-million-pound programmes.
* Solid understanding of risk management principles, with experience in identifying and mitigating project risks.
* Strong competency in reporting and documentation, ensuring transparency and compliance in project execution.
* PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification (e.g., PMP, MSP) is required.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
