PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The main responsibility of the MES/ Software Team Lead is to manage a team of MES Engineers, in the planning, execution, and delivery of MES projects while ensuring compliance with Quality and Regulatory requirements. The MES Team Lead will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and excellence and ensuring the site delivers safe and effective products using our MES System that meet customer needs whilst maintaining compliance.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide support on all activities related to the MES application onsite (POMsNet)
* Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, IT and Quality leaders to ensure efficient and effective MES site support.
* Establish with the Sensor Engineering Manager and the site leadership team the goals, schedules, and timetables for MES activities.
* Lead MES projects from initiation to completion, managing scope, schedule, and budget.
* Validation of new recipes/changes to recipes and new machine integrations, configurations & peripheral devices setups.
* Coordinate with stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives.
* Implement best practices and standards for MES implementation and validation.
* Provide leadership and guidance to the MES team members, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
* Coach and Mentor, the MES team with an emphasis on continual operational improvements and employee development.
* Work collaboratively with other sites and other functions within the division in developing and deploying best practices in relation to the MES system.
* Ensure the department conducts its business in a manner designed to be protective of human health, safety, and the environment.
* Responsible for compliance with applicable Site, Divisional and Corporate Policies and performing other duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES:
* Relevant third level qualification in a Computing, Science or Engineering discipline
* Experience as an MES Recipe Author very advantageous
* Demonstrated experience in leading MES projects from Design to Qualification, including direct experience with MES validation and determining MES validation approach.
* Strong understanding of MES systems, including electronic batch records, and production floor equipment integration.
* Experience with ERP systems POMsNet preferable and integrations with applications such as SAP, OSI-PI, Kepware advantageous in addition to experience in Oracle Databases and SQL scripting.
* Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage resources effectively and problem-solving expertise.
* Must have good interpersonal skills, position will involve a lot of interdepartmental interaction and coordination, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
* Strong communication skills to synthesize complex issues and communicate into simple messages.
* Yellow/Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma
* Proficiency with MS Office applications
