Offaly Salary: Dependent on Experience Overview: We are looking for an early career environmental professional with at least one year of relevant experience and a passion for sustainability, to join our Compliance Team.
This role will involve working with bespoke systems so it is essential to have excellent IT skills and a willingness to learn.
The Environmental, Compliance & Sustainability Officer will be responsible for Environmental and Sustainable aspects at our facility and provide support to the Compliance Department, reporting to the Compliance Manager.
The position of Environmental Compliance & Sustainability Officer will be filled by a motivated, hardworking and diligent individual who is a quick learner with an understanding of Environmental Compliance and has a genuine interest in the position.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Support and manage Environmental monitoring and maintain compliance in line with site IED Licence, AER reporting, Integrated Management System, WEEELABEX requirements and annual Sustainability reporting.
Responsibility for suitable implementation of current Compliance Department policies and procedures and meeting the requirements of applicable legislation.
Carrying out Environmental inspections, using various compliance software programmes, internal auditing, record keeping, ensuring any corrective actions are implemented without delay.
Work with staff and contractors at all levels providing practical, hands-on support, daily site walks, PPE and training to ensure safe EHS practices are being used to achieve daily tasks.
Directing the company towards future ESG goals, supporting company objectives and targets, measure and analyse energy usage, energy generated, water usage and all sustainability reporting requirements.
Key Skills & requirements: A third level degree in environmental science/sustainability is essential.
1+ years experience in a similar field Familiar with ESG and sustainability reporting requirements Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
Good attention to detail for reporting purposes and reviewing EHS policies and procedures.
Familiar with ISO9001 and 14001 and internal auditing.
Ability to work on own initiative promoting environment and sustainability practices Professional manner, friendly and energetic in their daily interactions with co-workers and customers.
Ability to work well under pressure.
WEEE recycling industry experience advantageous but not essential.
Appreciation of the importance of compliance in a well-regulated industry.
