Backend Unix/Linux Support EngineerPreferred locations: Dublin, Madrid or Barcelona2 days office working required each week
Key responsabilities include system patching, troubleshooting, engaging vendor, and automation. Join our team for a dynamic role in enterprise-level IT infrastructure. System Engineer II is responsible for the daily, weekly, and monthly activities required to deliver multiple project tasks on-time while following all process and procedures’, escalating issues as necessary, and creating/updating all necessary documentation. In addition, the System Engineer is responsible for but not limited to OS installs, upgrades, hardware moves and migrations, new server builds, providing advanced escalation support (including engaging vendor support), performance monitoring and tuning & host configuration.
What You'll Do
Manage system performance and ensure high availability of Oracle Linux systems through tuning and monitoring.
Perform patching, updates, and upgrades for Oracle Linux systems.
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, ensuring timely resolution to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration and operation of applications on Oracle Linux servers.
Automate repetitive tasks using shell scripts
Implement security protocols and best practices, ensuring that Oracle Linux systems are compliant with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Manage backups, disaster recovery, and system redundancy strategies.
Provide technical support and guidance to developers and other stakeholders on Oracle Linux-related issues.
Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and ensure system optimization.
Create and maintain detailed documentation on system configurations, processes, and procedures.
