Your new company is one of Ireland’s leading civil, structural and transportation engineering consultancies with an office based in Dublin City. This consultancy has been active for 30+ years and their expertise ranges from infrastructure, transportation, marine, commercial, educational, residential, civic, and industrial/logistics sectors. Your new company’s reputation is based on providing high-quality personal service to both public and private clients in each of their three disciplines in Ireland, UK, and Europe as well as a workforce of over 190 dedicated staff across 3 offices. Several of their projects have recently been shortlisted for a number of awards across the UK and Ireland. They are now looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis to assist with the increased workload.
Your new role
* As a Civil Engineer you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects as part of the Civil Infrastructure team.
* Successful candidates will be in charge of providing services ranging from the planning phase through the building and completion of big national infrastructure projects.
* You can expect to work on a wide variety of projects in both the public and private sectors, with the leadership team mentoring both pre- and post-chartered engineers.
* Experience designing and specifying civil engineering materials with the capacity to examine baseline data and develop creative/cost-effective design solutions for public and private clients utilizing the most up-to-date design suites/software.
* Possess multi-disciplinary design coordination expertise and be able to convey design solutions effectively and holistically within an entire project team.
* Previous experience mentoring junior engineers in developing their own expertise.
* Familiarity with the compilation of contract documentation for Public Works Contracts, as well as involvement in their administration.
* You will have a developing understanding of the project and commercial management needs for big infrastructure projects.
What you'll need to succeed
* To succeed in this position, you will have at least 3 to 6 years of civil engineering experience, preferably in a design office.
* Minimum Level 8 Civil Engineering Degree and either hold or are working towards their Chartered status. Candidates should display leadership qualities and have an eye for opportunity. Full clean driver’s license is desirable.
* You will have the ambition to continue your career development with this consultancy and actively engage with senior directors.
* Ideally you should demonstrate a thorough understanding of design concepts such as national/local authority standards, and technical guidance papers such as GDSDS, IW CoP, DMURS, DMRB, TII SRW, and so on.
