Senior Project Manager (Electrical HV)
The successful candidate will work within the technical design authority for the transmission system, ensuring that projects meet requirements and are carried out efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure technical queries are dealt with in accordance with TSO standards and policies.
* Review submitted designs against functional requirements and outline designs.
* Monitor construction progress and onsite inspection to ensure compliance with standards.
* Commission developments to comply with requirements by producing and issuing commissioning instructions.
* Verify transmission system requirements are met to allow commissioning tests to proceed.
* Assist lead engineers with engagement with customer and stakeholder technical consultants as required.
* Coordinate with peers to meet business priorities and manage issues.
* Provide technical direction and assistance across the organisation.
* Ensure completion of Stage Gate Reviews on all customer projects.
* Disseminate lessons learned on each project post project energisation.
* Engage with partners in ESB Networks through meetings, reporting, relationship management, and general communication.
* Facilitate project reviews, assessment, and auditing by internal and external parties.
Requirements:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 10 years experience post-graduate.
* Transmission Substation design expertise with experience assessing substation designs for conformity to standards at 110/220/400 kV.
* Digitally savvy with ability to build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.
* Construction or project management background with a desire to grow your career.
* Experience completing onsite inspections and monitoring construction progress for compliance.
* Preparation and issuance of transmission design drawings, such as single line diagrams and substation layout drawings.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent.
* Substantial experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the Energy sector.
* Property or infrastructure project management expertise.
* Commercial and financial acumen.
* Experience leading parts of projects within large, diverse teams.
* Developing and forming relationships with senior stakeholders.
* Knowledge of carbon and sustainability considerations shaping project outlook.
