About the Role
A leading company in the construction and real estate sector is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to provide financial insights, analysis, and strategic support. This role will be instrumental in driving financial performance, preparing budgets and forecasts, and optimizing financial processes to support construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
* Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
* Analyze project costs, revenue, profitability, and cash flow.
* Provide financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
* Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and conduct variance analysis.
* Support business strategy with ad hoc financial analysis.
Business Partnering & Strategic Support
* Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and department heads to provide financial guidance.
* Support tendering processes with cost evaluations and risk assessments.
* Develop financial models to assist with business planning and investment decisions.
* Identify opportunities for cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
Risk Management & Compliance
* Monitor financial risks associated with construction projects and develop mitigation strategies.
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
* Support internal and external audits by providing financial data and analysis.
Key Skills & Competencies
* Analytical Thinking – Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide insights.
* Financial Modelling – Experience building and maintaining detailed financial models.
* Attention to Detail – High level of accuracy in financial reporting.
* Communication – Ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
* Industry Knowledge – Understanding of the construction, engineering, or real estate sectors.
* Project Management – Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
* IT Proficiency – Proficient in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), and financial planning software (Hyperion, Adaptive Insights).
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (MBA preferred).
* Professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CPA) highly desirable.
* 5-7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably within the construction, engineering, or real estate industries.
* Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling for large-scale projects.
* Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools, with a focus on process improvement.
* Knowledge of construction contracts (NEC, JCT) and project finance is an advantage.
