The Director of Structural Engineering is responsible for leading and managing structural engineering teams, overseeing project execution, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and contributing to business development. Our aim is to support the Lead Architect in a timely manner.Due to the continued expansion, we are seeking to recruit a Director of Structural Engineering to join our Galway/Dublin Office.Key Responsibilities:Provide leadership and direction to the structural engineering team, including hiring, training, and mentoring engineers.Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the team.Ensure adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.Oversee the design, analysis, and review of structural projects, ensuring compliance with codes and industry best practices.Provide technical guidance and problem-solving expertise on complex structural engineering challenges.Review and approve engineering plans, calculations, and reports.Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, contractors, and government agencies.Identify new business opportunities and contribute to proposals, bids, and contracts.Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events, and professional organizations.Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure client satisfaction and profitability.QualificationsLevel 8 Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering and be Chartered with Engineers Ireland.Experience10+ years of experience in structural engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Must have minimum 5 years Irish work experience.Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.Ability to work effectively with cross-disciplinary teams and clients.Business development and financial management experience preferred.Seniority levelDirectorEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionEngineering and Information TechnologyIndustriesBusiness Consulting and Services
