Our client, a leading Tech organisation in Letterkenny is seeking an experienced Data Privacy and Security Manager to provide expert guidance on data privacy and cybersecurity within a highly innovative and fast-moving environment. Key Responsibilities:
1. Privacy Compliance and Risk Assessment:
2. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Data Advisory team, ensuring compliance with EU/UK GDPR and data protection legislation.
3. Conduct privacy risk assessments for complex Product Engineering projects.
4. Identify and articulate high-risk data processing activities, international data transfers, and third-party data handling.
5. Provide guidance on data minimization techniques and data subject rights adherence.
6. Strategic Advisory and Collaboration:
7. Advise engineering and development teams on privacy requirements for new and existing projects.
8. Review and assess industry-specific guidelines to ensure compliance with relevant privacy frameworks.
9. Engage with stakeholders to promote data privacy best practices across the organization.
10. Cross-Functional Engagement:
11. Work closely with IT, software development, and automotive engineering teams to integrate privacy considerations into their workflows.
12. Ensure privacy risks are effectively managed in cloud-based systems, in-vehicle infotainment, and connected technologies.
What You’ll Bring:
Experience & Expertise:
1. Extensive experience as a dedicated Privacy professional, advising on data protection frameworks.
2. Background in technology-driven industries such as Automotive, Engineering, IT, Software Development, or Banking.
3. Strong knowledge of privacy compliance, data governance, and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Competencies:
1. Ability to communicate complex legal and technical privacy concepts to non-expert stakeholders.
2. Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities.
3. A proactive approach to identifying and mitigating data privacy risks.
Desirable Qualifications (Good to Have):
1. CIPP/E qualification.
2. Law degree.
3. Engineering or IT degree.
4. Qualified lawyer status.
