Our client a leading construction contractor in Ireland is seeking a Design Coordinator to join their high-performance project delivery team.

Key Responsibilities Design Coordination & Communication Act as a key interface between Architects, Structural, and Services Engineers, ensuring clear and continuous communication with site teams.
Support the Design/Project Manager in communicating design developments and their financial impact to the wider project and commercial teams.
Facilitate coordination between the BIM team, consultants, and subcontractors, ensuring design issues are resolved and models are aligned ahead of model freeze.
Technical & Operational Delivery Oversee and track the submittal and approval process for designs and materials, ensuring timely sign-off from client representatives.
Manage subcontractors to ensure work is delivered in accordance with the approved design intent, specifications, and submittals.
Support look-ahead planning activities to align design deliverables with project milestones.
Assist with managing O&M manuals, handover documentation, and ensure timely, accurate issue and approval.
Compliance, Quality & Reporting Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building regulations (BCAR, TGD), environmental, health & safety legislation.
Ensure compliance with Local Authority requirements, securing all relevant building control sign-offs.
Liaise with the quality team to ensure design requirements align with project benchmarks and QA procedures.
Support the aftercare and snagging process by managing design-related close-out actions.
Organise and minute design meetings, ensuring actions are captured and followed up.
Commercial & Contractual Awareness Maintain commercial awareness throughout the design coordination process, identifying risks and opportunities.
Ensure internal and external communications are handled with professionalism and confidentiality.
Skills & Experience Required 3rd level qualification in Architectural Technology, Construction Management, Project Management, or Engineering.
Minimum 3-5 years experience in a similar Design Coordinator, Design Engineer, or Site-based role with a Main Contractor or Developer.
Strong technical knowledge of construction processes, building regulations, and coordination processes.
Proficient in BIM model navigation and relevant design/coordination software.
Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
A collaborative team player with strong problem-solving and time management skills.
