The SAP Basis Administrator role will sit within the SAP Service Delivery team reporting into the SAP Delivery Manager for Ireland. The SAP Basis Administrator will be responsible for providing exceptional, high-quality, technical support to the SAP landscape used within the Irish business to ensure the systems run in a smooth manner.
The role is focused on ensuring SAP Basis runs as efficiently and securely as possible by monitoring and maintaining the system in high availability, analyzing for errors, installing updates, managing transports, scheduling background jobs, and user administration.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Responsibility for the support, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of business-critical SAP applications. Our estate has ECC, EWM, BI, SRM, and PI modules on SAP NetWeaver 7.31/7.5 with IBM DB2 v10.5/11.1/11.5 on SUSE Linux.
* Lead a small team of Offshore Basis Administrators who perform monitoring checks and first level support for system issues.
* Provide knowledge transfer to the Offshore Basis Team on a constant basis.
* Act as an escalation point for issues and liaise with the functional, ABAP, Infrastructure teams as appropriate to resolve same.
* Support and maintain the DB2 High Availability databases.
* Plan and implement Support Pack Stack updates and Version upgrades.
* Support ongoing project to upgrade Linux to SLES 15 and DB2 to v11.5.
* Support the ongoing Archiving project.
* System Copies/Client Refreshes.
* Work with Roles and Authorizations team to uphold standards around role creation/assignments and act as a focal point during audits and license reviews.
* Conduct root cause analysis of incidents, ensuring complete understanding and remediation of all issues.
* Document system problems and resolution for future reference.
* Interact with vendors to facilitate the resolution of escalated tickets.
* Maintain technical documentation related to the configuration of SAP Basis components.
* Participate in wider IT Projects and Ad hoc duties as required.
* Take personal responsibility to keep up-to-date with new technologies, systems, and solutions.
* Contribute to service improvement projects across the Service Support & Shared Systems team as required.
* Strong analytical skills and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications & Experience
* Third Level bachelor's degree for an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education.
* 5+ years working in SAP Basis Administration, providing support for SAP ABAP and JAVA stacks.
* Demonstrated experience in application of support packs and system upgrades.
* Demonstrated experience of Database patching/upgrades on a Unix environment.
* Proficiency with basic Linux commands in order to administer the Application and Database servers.
* Demonstrated experience in producing high quality documentation including but not limited to Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
SAP on IBM DB2. Provide Basis Support in a Warehouse environment, including support of printers and RF devices. Experience in User Access Management, Roles and Authorization creation and maintenance. Experience with SAP Archiving.
