Deutsche Börse Group is strengthening its position as a leader in creating the marketplace of the future. To strengthen the team, we are looking for an Innovation and Digital Transformation Unit Head (f/m/d) to take on responsibility in an interesting and dynamic environment to support us in leading our strategy and execution around Automation. We focus on digitization and automation of business processes. Our Automation Solutions units provide guidance to individual automation use case initiatives. This spans from Centre of Excellence type of help, through provisioning and support of automation tools and platforms, to forming project teams and/or providing automation implementations.
We are driven by User Experience and Efficiency, whilst maintaining both Compliance, Agility of approaches and Flexibility needed in the context of dynamically changing ecosystem of tools and processes. Our mission is to free up human resources to do complex and advanced tasks instead of spending time and effort on repetitive, mundane, and automatable activities.
We support implementations leveraging Low-code development platform Mendix, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and other automation tools like Power Automate, in house-built Digitization Platform with microservices for OCR, Data Mining, NLP, automated document classification, and many other related features. Our project methodology is using Agile software development principles of Scrum@DBG framework. Our governance framework spans from simple automation cases all the way to MCP governed critical and material changes.
The Innovation and Digital Transformation Unit Head role is responsible for delivery and support of Automation solutions and the development of our in-house built Digitization Platform. The project and change processes in our company are complex to satisfy extensive regulatory and compliance requirements. We are looking for a self-driven leader with experience in managing change and development projects in a wide variety of governing contexts and implementation project styles, and a strong willingness to understand the business context and align technical solutions with business needs.
Your Responsibilities
1. Innovation & IT Transformation:
⦁ Lead innovation projects to explore new automation opportunities and technologies
⦁ Extend artificial intelligence capabilities within the automation solutions.
⦁ Provide, facilitate, and standardize Automation Platforms across the organization for increased adoption and unlocking business value
2. Delivery and operations Stability:
⦁ Delivery of Automation use cases and platform enhancements in line with both change and operating budgets.
⦁ Active participation in the ongoing evolution of automation development lifecycle processes.
⦁ Transparency of progress and risks to project stakeholders.
⦁ Documentation of processes, plans, project governance documents, and progress reports.
3. Line Management:
⦁ Lead a team of 7 resources plus externals.
⦁ Practicing, coaching, and promoting Agile Project Management practices where possible.
⦁ Planning backlogs, timelines of deliverables, release management.
⦁ Use both teaching and coaching to keep improving agility as well as maturity of the Agile operation.
⦁ Ensure budgetary rigor in all line management activities
⦁ Assistance with Project Management of other automation initiatives (e.g. Low-Code and RPA solutions)
Your Profile
⦁ University degree in Information Technology or comparable professional experience.
⦁ Extensive experience leading technical projects and managing process change in both Agile and Waterfall SDLC.
⦁ A strong willingness to understand the business context and align technical solutions with business needs.
⦁ Experience with architectural patterns of microservices and streaming platforms, cloud platforms, and Automation technologies.
⦁ Experience with the team and company ecosystem is desirable:
⦁ Atlassian Jira, Confluence and GitHub
⦁ Google Cloud Platform, Kafka, OpenShift
⦁ Mendix or other low code platforms
⦁ Experience in delivering AI and GenAi solutions is a plus
⦁ Experience working in globally distributed teams.
⦁ Experience in project and release management.
⦁ Understanding of resource management.
⦁ Knowledge of the financial industry, e.g. related to business of Deutsche Börse and Clearstream beneficial, especially in the investment funds area
