Purcelloleary on behalf of our client, are recruiting an experienced Production Manager to oversee the daily operations of their animal rendering plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the production process, ensuring efficient use of resources, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and environmental compliance. Key Responsibilities for the Production Manager Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands, ensure efficient use of resources, and minimise waste. Process Optimisation: Continuously monitor and improve the rendering process to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality. Team Management: Supervise and motivate a team of production staff, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively. Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet customer specifications and industry standards. Safety and Environmental Compliance: Ensure the plant operates in compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations, and maintain a safe working environment for all employees. Maintenance and Repair: Coordinate maintenance and repair activities to minimise downtime and ensure equipment is in good working order. Supply Chain Management: Manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of raw materials and services. Cost Control: Monitor and control production costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Requirements for the Production Manager role: Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., animal science, food science, engineering). Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a production management role, preferably in the rendering or food processing industry. Knowledge: Strong knowledge of rendering processes, quality control, and safety protocols. Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
