Job Summary:
Centrotherm Eco Systems is looking for a dynamic engineer to fill a product design and testing engineering position. The ideal candidate will join our engineering department and report to the Engineering Manager. The candidate will be responsible for designing and testing new products to enhance our product offerings.
Job Duties:
* Creation and execution of design verification plans.
* Use KPIs to drive continuous improvement and project success.
* Develop test procedures, set-ups/rigs, documentation, and lab reports.
* Problem solve using engineering analysis, critical thinking, and creativity.
* Become an expert with industry codes and standards.
* Execute design failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
* Effectively communicate with our customer base, from OEMs to homeowners.
* Listen and understand customer needs.
* Communicate customer requirements to other team members.
* Assist in the development of new products to meet OEM specifications utilizing target cost methodology.
* Incorporate production methods/limitations in design.
* Assist in material sourcing.
* Create part drawings and BOM utilizing Creo.
* Assist the manufacturing team with the production of “first articles.”
* Perform other duties, projects, and assignments as needed.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent discipline from an accredited university.
* 1-3 years of work-related experience.
* Proficiency in 3D computer-aided design software; experience with Creo is required.
* Familiarity with lab testing equipment and procedures.
* Exposure to UL-1738, ULC-S636, ANSI Z21, and NFPA 54.
* Mastery of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
* Ability to multi-task and prioritize high-value projects.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
* Requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard or other office equipment.
* Requires speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone.
* Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust and focus.
* Occasionally be required to lift and or move up to 25 pounds.
* Frequently sitting, standing, walking, keyboarding.
* Required to wear safety glasses and steel/composite toe shoes while in warehouse or manufacturing areas.
