Join us as a Capital Expenditure Accountant
The Capital Finance Team supports our business departments with all aspects of financial assessment and evaluations for capital spend (tangible and intangible).
We assist by reviewing new project proposals including the benefits to the business and the correct accounting for these costs.
We track and record these costs from project initiation to inclusion on the fixed asset register and depreciation implications of these items.
The team plays a key role in supporting our business to streamline expenditure and make well-informed business decisions.
As the Capex Expenditure Accountant, you will act as the key contact for understanding and tracking our in-flight capital projects (both tangible and intangible) and track and analyze all these costs through our fixed asset register so they are capitalized correctly and depreciated accordingly.
Reporting directly to the Head of Financial Reporting and Planning, you will join an enthusiastic and energetic team which works alongside the business to ensure correct accounting for all capital projects.
What else it involves Monthly accounting, analysis and reporting of work in progress, fixed assets, intangible assets, and associated depreciation.Monthly accounting, analysis and reporting of capitalized labour.Manage timely reporting and delivery of accurate monthly management accounts including work in progress reports, fixed asset movements, intangible asset movements, and depreciation calculations.Preparation and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts relating to work in progress, fixed assets, intangible assets, and depreciation.Tracking and reconciliation of fixed assets provisions.
Ensuring accurate processes defined for tracking the unwinding of these provisions.Liaison with project managers and teams in the wider business to understand work in progress projects and the financial impact on fixed assets and depreciation calculations.Ownership of fixed and intangible assets registers, fixed assets policy, and statutory calculations.Ensure compliance with our fixed asset and intangible asset accounting policies and IFRS.Ensure that associated and ad-hoc reports are delivered in a timely manner to high standards.Be a key contributor to the management of the relationships with internal and external departments.Support other areas of finance as requested by your manager.The skills we're looking for: Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)Proven experience of financial and management accounting and control, reporting, and analysisSome previous finance experience within construction projects and understanding of complex fixed assets structures is an advantageExperience of working in a mobile telecommunications network operator (Desirable).Experience with Oracle (Desirable)MS Office Excel (intermediate to advanced)Benefits of Working at Three Flexible working with our new Hybrid model, our employees will enjoy more flexibility working from home and our office locations (3 days per week office based).
