About the Role
As part of a large global organization and working with a diverse team based in the West of Ireland, the Electronics Test Lead will be working in a dynamic environment and will be involved in testing the latest technology in the Automotive Industry.
The Electronics Test Lead will interact and coordinate test teams both on and off-site. He/She will be heavily involved in the development process of all aspects of testing (setup, results, specifications, etc.) as well as in the review process.
Excellent communication skills, great time and task management abilities, as well as a strong background in Electronics are key skills for the successful candidate.
Responsibilities
1. Coordinate with Project Teams based on and off-site.
2. Design and review test setups and train team members to ensure consistency in Test Methods and Procedures.
3. Work with Project Teams in writing and reviewing Test Specifications.
4. Observe the correct application of Review Processes for Test Results and Reports.
5. Review and select specialized test equipment when necessary.
6. Provide Technical Leadership and decision-making to the Electronics Test Team.
7. Participate in formal product Design Reviews and Schematic/PCB Reviews.
8. Support development and maintenance of the Electronics Development process.
9. Sponsor Innovation and Creativity in the development of all products.
10. Give regular status reports and performance metrics for your team, including sub-contractors, to the Electronics Team Leads or Department Manager.
11. Identify Training requirements for assigned staff.
12. Keep up to date with new Standards and general market information in the Industry.
Minimum Requirements
1. Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 7 years experience working in an electronics design and development environment.
3. Strong background working in a test environment: i.e. Test specification development and review, Test setups design and review, Test results analysis and review.
4. Experience using test and acquisition equipment: Multimeter, Function Generator, Oscilloscope, Network Analyzer, Power Supply characterisation Tools.
5. Good understanding of Schematic and Layout Design.
6. Experience with communication protocols (i.e CAN, LIN, Ethernet, SPI, UART, MIPI, PoC, LVDS, etc).
7. Experience working with large teams in multiple locations.
8. Ability to understand project development milestones.
9. Good understanding of DFM techniques.
10. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
11. Experience in the automotive industry would be an advantage.
