Overview of role:
The successful candidate will join an experienced team of multi-discipline experts to deliver Health and Safety. Operating Nationwide, the successful candidate will assist with the Health and Safety function on important utility projects and sites. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills and become a key member of the Health and Safety Team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the promotion and implementation of the requirements of the ISO accredited safety management system on site.
2. Be an influencer and offer encouragement to promote a positive EHS culture on site.
3. Assist in delivering the induction programmes for personnel working on site.
4. Assist in reviewing and monitoring on Site Method Statements and Safe Plans of Action.
5. Assist in the delivery of Safety Briefings.
6. Carry out site health and safety audits to ensure the standards are met.
7. Assist in the day-to-day management of safety on site.
8. Assist in monitoring environmental risks associated with the site work.
9. Assist with monitoring and reviewing site performance through observations, inspections, and audits.
10. Assist with compiling relevant information for inclusion in the Safety File.
11. Assist the EHS Manager in conducting incident investigations where necessary.
Skills and Experience:
1. A minimum of 1 year’s experience in any aspect of Health and Safety.
2. Hold or be in the process of obtaining a qualification in Health and Safety.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications.
5. Full Drivers Licence.
6. Have an interest in Health and Safety and an understanding of application within the construction industry or related industries, along with being familiar with construction & environment regulations and legislation is an advantage but not essential.
