This is a NSAI accredited manufacturing facility with large manufacturing and storage facilities in Shannon and Foynes with three group companies, specialising in different product and service offerings for its customers.

They have now a requirement for a Laboratory Quality Control Analyst to work in its QC Lab on a permanent basis. This person will have a varied role which will include responsibility for laboratory analysis in the main Quality Laboratory.
Responsibilities:
1. Working as directed by the Laboratory Manager, in accordance with company safety policies.
2. Receiving and logging samples into the QC Laboratory.
3. Analysing raw material, in-process, finished product and retention samples according to specifications.
4. Analysing finished product samples according to IS EN standards and other samples and standards as directed by Lab Manager or SHEQ Manager.
5. Recording results in a timely and accurate fashion.
6. Ensuring that any laboratory KPI’s with respect to analyst's work are achieved.
7. Ensuring that the management systems within the department are adhered to daily.
8. Ensuring correct labelling of laboratory reagents and samples.
9. Troubleshooting with the QC Department with respect to any analytical work.
10. Helping to ensure laboratory SOP’s and specifications are kept up to date and in compliance.
11. Being involved with "non-conformance" investigations and "Laboratory Investigations Reports".
12. Regular review of and maintenance of own training record to ensure it is up to date and in compliance regarding Safety and Health, Environmental and Quality.
13. Involvement in the purchase of QC consumables and liaising with approved suppliers.
14. Working on projects as detailed by SHEQ Manager and Lab Manager.
15. Participating in any projects associated with the Company's Continuous Improvement program.
What is Required for the Role:
1. Degree in Science or equivalent.
2. Minimum 3 years in a similar environment/laboratory.
3. Experience in all or any of the following is essential: Spectrometry, wet chemistry (titrations, pH, density, turbidity, moisture analysis and maintenance of associated instrumentation).
4. Experience in an industrial Laboratory would be advantageous.
5. Proficient in various lab software programmes would be advantageous.
