Our client in Co Galway seeks an Operational Excellence Manager to lead their expansion in the West.
The Role
As Operational Excellence Manager, you will oversee the leadership of the program and all aspects of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the Operational Excellence (GROWTTH) program.
* Provide leadership and foster cross-functional teamwork to exceed Operational Excellence targets.
* Leverage the annual cost reduction project (IMPACT), delivering planned year-on-year savings.
* Lead GROWTTH events (Kaizens, VSM, SMED, A3, 5S etc) and systemize the output.
* Enhance skills and behaviors through training, coaching, and mentoring in Lean Operations and EXCELL Behaviours.
* Promote the GROWTTH program and provide updates to the wider organization.
* Evaluate the continuous improvement team's capabilities and competencies.
* Maintain a positive team atmosphere and address people management issues effectively.
* Ensure changes comply with QMS (ISO13485/FDA), OH&S, Environmental, and Energy Management Systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001) and other regulatory requirements.
* Contribute to EHS and Energy Management systems' continual improvement activities.
* Comply with all EHS requirements for self and others' safety.
* Consider EHS requirements before implementing change to identify potential hazards or risks.
* Comply with Quality Management System requirements.
* Stay current with Operations Excellence developments.
* Acknowledge flexibility and undertake additional duties assigned by the Company as agreed with Management.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, or related field.
* Qualification in Lean Operations (MSc, Black Belt, or equivalent).
* Minimum ten years of experience in medical device manufacturing engineering and production environments.
* Five or more years in leadership positions implementing operations excellence.
* Experience leading cross-functional teams and organizational talent development.
* Metric-driven culture experience.
* ISO standards experience, including ISO 13485, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
* In-depth knowledge of lean operations principles and practices.
* Six sigma practices expertise.
* 'Lean' practitioner passion and initiative.
* Demonstrated oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision and lead cross-functional teams.
* Travel ability (20%).
