Job Title: Family Based Service Team Lead – Parents Under Pressure

Purpose: To lead out on and deliver a family-based service within the CH04 area- utilising the Parents Under Pressure (PUP) integrated framework to inform the work carried out with families experiencing adversity due to past or current substance use. This Family based service will consist of Team Lead whom will provide PUP and other evidence-based supports and who will oversee the provision of the service delivered by the hub including the roles of the Art Therapist and Play Therapist.

We now have a vacancy for Parents Under Pressure (PuP) Team Lead who will lead on the development and provision of a family-based service in the Cork/Kerry region. The successful candidate will utilise the PuP evidence-based approach and Integrated framework when supporting families experiencing adversity due to addiction and provide leadership to the multidisciplinary team in providing a professional and confidential family support service to parents affected by substance use.
Role Responsibilities: (Include, but not limited to)
Clinical
* Be responsible for the delivery and ongoing development of a Family Based service appropriate to the post in line with best practice.
* Provide a service in the CH04 area to families who are experiencing adversity and pressure, including but not limited to past or current addiction problems, domestic violence, financial difficulties, homelessness and/or minimal support structures.
* Communicate effectively and work in co-operation with other team members and agencies to ensure Multidisciplinary Team service provision across the geographical work area as required.
* Work within limits of professional competence in line with principles of best practice professional conduct and clinical governance.
* Conduct thorough assessments with individual families who will be referred to the service and engage parents in the development and implementation of their own individualised and tailored therapeutic family support plan.
* Provide case management supports to Families and work as a member of a Multidisciplinary Team.
* Facilitate Group sessions, including PuP group, psycho educational workshops and Family support if necessary.
* Liaise with other health, social care and community-based services to advocate for service user needs to be met within their care plan.
* Inform facilitate and refer individuals as appropriate in accessing healthcare and support services.
* Maintain assigned clinical caseload.
* Engage in clinical audit, quality initiatives and service research and evaluation and prepare reports as required.
* Contribute to, promote and safeguard the good reputation of the service.
* Attend meetings/case-conferences as required.
* Participate in service-related working groups/sub-groups as required.
* Work in an ethical and professional manner at all times.
* Ensure clinical practice is fully compliant with Children First Legislation.
* Work within the policies of Coolmine Therapeutic Community in order to ensure that a consistent delivery of service, quality standards and best practice are adhered to at all times.
* Comply with all Health and Safety regulations and risk assessment procedures in Coolmine that ensure safety for 1:1 working.
Management and Leadership
* Take a leadership role within this team, including line management and line supervision of team including art therapist, play therapist and administrator.
* Participate when appropriate in an area of special clinical interest, clinical group of relevance to the service.
* Initiate and participate in evaluating systemic approaches within particular areas of the service.
* Participate in the formulation and implementation of clinical and operational practices and procedures as appropriate.
* Facilitate the delivery of PUP training programmes as required.
* Maintain appropriate client records, databases and statistics in accordance with Coolmine TC requirements and local guidelines.
* Ensure practice is fully compliant with the requirements of The Freedom of Information Act, Data Protection Acts and other relevant legislation.
* Provide statistical returns and additional data as required to support the effective administration and evaluation of the service.
* Assist in ensuring that the service makes the most efficient and effective use of developments in Information and Communications Technology.
* Support, promote and actively participate in sustainable energy, water and waste initiatives.
* Participate in ongoing evaluation and in initiatives to improve the quality of all aspects of the service.
Education & Training
* Engage in regular case-management, clinical and managerial supervision with Line Manager.
* Actively participate in peer clinical supervision.
* Attend mandatory training programmes.
* Take responsibility for being informed of advances in professional knowledge and practice.
* Participate in continuous professional development initiatives.
Person Specification
Essential to the Post
* Possess a relevant 3rd level qualification such as Counselling, Family Therapy, Social Work etc.
AND
* Hold an active PuP Therapist accreditation as accredited by the University of Brisbane and be fully competent in case management and in the use of the PUP integrated Framework.
* Access to Transport.
Experience
* Understand the dynamics and interface between the individual and the community.
* Experience in implementation and evaluation of care planning/Case management.
* Experience of interagency working within support services.
* Demonstrate sufficient professional/clinical knowledge to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the role.
