Job Summary
A leading organisation in the Southeast is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee financial operations, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal control policy development.
The ideal candidate will provide strategic financial insights to drive executive decision-making and business growth, while managing financial risks and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee accounting operations across multiple sites, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
* Lead the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
* Prepare and deliver timely, accurate monthly financial statements.
* Address technical accounting issues and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
* Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
* Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting to maintain accuracy and transparency.
* Provide executive leadership with comprehensive financial data and analysis to guide strategic planning and policy development.
* Monitor budget trends, identify variances, and present findings to senior leadership.
* Develop, implement, and enhance internal control systems and accounting policies.
* Collaborate with external auditors by providing necessary documentation and support.
* Manage tax preparation duties or coordinate with external tax advisors as needed.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar leadership role.
* Minimum of 5 years' combined experience in accounting and finance.
* ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
* Expertise in preparing financial statements and managing the month-end/year-end close process.
* Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
* Outstanding communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
