**Job Summary**
Provide day-to-day automation and manufacturing support to business users throughout the sites, focusing on streamlining, standardisation, and improvement of the functions of these systems in the automation of manufacturing processes.
Play a key role in the review, approval, and execution process of validation protocols, supporting capital projects including conceptual design, scope of work, project schedules, and status reports.
Conduct project design reviews and/or status meetings for sponsoring departments and management when appropriate, develop and/or review URS for process and automation systems, and maintain operational as-built documentation for plant control system infrastructure.
Ensure that changes carried out on the Automation Systems do not compromise the safety, environmental, or quality stance of the plant through the change control process.
Manage Change by engaging stakeholders in the change effort, measuring and reporting change progress, assessing business readiness, and supporting change adoption.
Support workshops and other interventions to promote Change Management initiatives throughout the organisation, constantly re-evaluating the automation environment in the context of available technologies to ensure optimal efficiency and functionality.
Assist in developing standard data structures and methods to support the ongoing integration of plant floor manufacturing control systems, proposing modifications to systems, equipment, processes, and operations to improve safety, increase efficiency, and achieve company goals.
Liaise with major equipment vendors to ensure compliance with specifications, requiring experience in Automation Validation in accordance with GAMP and cGMP.
A relevant Engineering degree and at least 5 years of experience in process control, PLC / SCADA, IT architecture and operations are required, along with a proven track record of design and delivery of high-impact technology solutions.
Experience in Allen-Bradley PLCs, Wonderware InTouch, InBatch, InSQL, ASI, Profibus, ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet would be advantageous, as well as ability to build strong relationships, prioritise goals and objectives, communicate effectively, and work without close supervision in a team-based environment.
