We have partnered up with a client of ours who is expanding their Project Management team. The company has experienced huge growth since their founding in 2010. They have since acquired smaller companies and continue to grow their customer base and to be a leading provider in their industry.
The person would report to the Head of Projects and will be responsible for prioritising the development process in a fast-paced work environment. They are looking for someone to bring structure to the projects and ultimately deliver the projects within a tight deadline and short turnaround times. The environment is moving fast and product development is rapid, so being able to keep the momentum is critical. Someone who has come from a start-up environment would suit this opportunity as it is a very similar setup in the way they operate (smaller projects of 3-6 months with changing priorities). Experience working in an MVP environment is also a very important aspect of the role.
This is a very hands-on role and the right person will be dynamic, collaborative, and autonomous with excellent soft skills and attention to detail. You will need to have the ability to work with different personalities and get everyone on board with you. The right candidate will have experience managing vendors and third-party stakeholders and have worked in a PMO or one that is being created.
The projects are short term with a quick turnaround time (3-6 months usually) and they are mostly for the end user, so B2C experience is essential.
You will have the chance to apply your end-to-end project management skills in a cross-functional product development environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES Develop project plans within realistic deadlines and deliver projects on an MVP basis. Take ownership of the process for prioritising development by ensuring all features have a clear, accurate benefit and associated cost and prioritise based on maximum benefit at minimum cost. Ensure priority projects are effectively managed through estimation, definition of requirements and development. Engage with business stakeholders from the idea stage to maximise the delivery of beneficial software and track features until they are used by customers. Co-ordinate all stakeholders so there are agreed deadlines. Maximise development resources to ensure that there is an agreed prioritised background for sprints. Communicate progress, issues and actions to all stakeholders and keep them informed of all relevant software and features from idea through to customer delivery. Summarise progress for monthly board meetings. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Experience in Project Management, or a similar role in a fast-paced commercial environment. Experience working in an MVP environment or start-up. Demonstrate that you can meet strict deadlines and your contribution to each project and the relationship with the overall deadline and result. Experience managing vendors. Experience working on short-term projects rather than long. Someone who is assertive, self-starter and can negotiate with people. B2C experience.
