The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), which is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. We work backwards from our customer’s most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses.
Within WWSO, this position is a part of the Go-To-Market (GTM) Specialist team, where you will lead GTM strategy for AWS’ Storage for Germany and E. Central. We create sales plays, leverage partners, and build new initiatives that drive results for our customers. We provide critical feedback from customers to inform our product roadmap, and work closely with our partner network to build an ecosystem supporting our customers’ goals.
Key job responsibilities
1. Represent the voice of the customer; collaborate with field and central teams to bring customer feedback to product teams. Lead curation of custom feature and availability requests for unique customer use cases.
2. Provide advanced technical knowledge to your aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.
3. Along with your extended team, own the technical bar for specialist technical artefacts and standards.
4. Collaborate with your GTM colleagues to provide technical insights into GTM strategy and support field marketing to execute local technical events, campaigns, and customer engagements.
5. Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re: Invent, etc.
6. Guide and Support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts aligned to your customers. Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population to help them understand how to integrate new AWS solutions into customer architectures.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
2. Experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
3. Experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
4. 7+ years architecture/pre-sales experience with storage solutions.
5. 5+ years experience with advanced storage technologies such as replication, high availability, archiving, backup & restore, and disaster recovery/business continuity.
6. 3+ years experience with Linux command-line tools and system configuration.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
2. Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
3. Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective.
4. Professional experience architecting and operating enterprise IT storage architectures and how they integrate into large-scale production applications.
5. Professional experience architecting and operating cloud solutions Understanding of AWS Storage Services such as S3, Glacier, Elastic File System (EFS), AWS Storage Gateway (SGW), and Snowball.
6. Use of AWS in production.
7. Understands the role that networking plays in complex storage architectures.
8. Technical enablement experience through content creation and speaking engagements.
9. Scripting experience (Powershell, Python, bash, etc.).
10. Bachelors or equivalent work experience.
11. Comfortable speaking to large audiences.
