Burrenbeo Trust is a landscape charity dedicated to connecting people with their places and fostering a shared responsibility for their care. Established in 2008, we deliver over 25 programmes annually in place-based education, conservation, community engagement, research, and advocacy. While rooted in the Burren, our impact extends nationally.

The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Charity Trustee with a financial background to take on the role of Treasurer. If you have experience in finance and share our passion for community and conservation, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Trustee, you will:
* Ensure Burrenbeo Trust complies with its charitable purpose and governing document.
* Act in the best interests of the charity and its beneficiaries.
* Contribute to strategic direction, policy formation, and oversight.
As Treasurer, you will:
* Lead financial oversight, ensuring the charity’s financial health and sustainability.
* Present financial data to the Board, ensuring informed decision-making.
* Maintain compliance with financial regulations and funding agreements.
* Work with staff to oversee monthly accounts and financial controls.
* Assess financial viability of plans and proposals, advising the Board accordingly.
Ideal Candidate:
* Background in accountancy and/or financial management.
* Strong strategic vision and independent judgment.
* Experience in grant funding, income generation, or fundraising (desirable).
* Interest in conservation, heritage, or community engagement (a plus).
Commitment & Meetings:
* Quarterly evening Board meetings in Kinvara (hybrid options available).
* Ongoing email communications regarding funding updates and financial approvals.
