RTR Intercompany Accountant, Cork

General Job Requirements:
Reporting to the RTR Manager/Snr Manager, within Global Financial Solutions (GFS), this position will be responsible for the Intercompany accounting activities within the RTR team.
Job duties include:
Intercompany:
1. Responsibility for the Intercompany processes including processing of intercompany cross charge transactions to include ESPP, Payroll, Stock (DER, RSU, NQ), T&E and BCD congress.
2. Reconciliation of intercompany accounts, ICO Product, ICO Non-Product, ICO Loan and ICO FX accounts in Blackline.
3. Review of ICO AP & AR reports and request for settlement as part of IHC (In house cash) and reconciliation of IHC account in Blackline.
4. Responsible for booking Intercompany accruals at month end.
5. Settlement of intercompany transactions, resolution of intercompany differences.
6. Responsible for clearing activity on Intercompany accounts, ICO manual and IHC accounts.
7. Interact with local in-market finance teams (Payroll, FP&A and Stock plan services) to correctly recharge intercompany transactions, including advocating for the use of standard documents and ensuring correct level of backup for transactions.
8. Responsible for the preparation of ICO manual accruals -Qtrly tax and royalty, CBE and allocation accruals.
9. Process of wire requests for Mgmt fee and stock payments.
10. Responsible for preparing analysis and schedules for local management as well as internal and external auditors.
11. Frequent interaction with peers, outside customers, and functional group members at various management levels.
12. Interaction will require the ability to gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations or providing financial information as needed.
13. Adheres to policies and procedures including compliance with worldwide Controller’s manual.
General:
1. Experience in a global finance function of a multi-location, multinational corporation.
2. The development of strong relationships with key stakeholders, in particular with market finance teams across EMEA, APAC and US. Ability to quickly establish credibility with and influence diverse audiences.
3. Contribution to the definition and maintenance of key performance indicators (KPIs) and the establishment of a continuous improvement culture.
4. Interacts successfully with internal and external auditors and supports quarter-end, interim and year-end audits by providing timely Intercompany updates and accurate data and communication.
5. Evaluates processes and recommends and implements process improvements to standardised intercompany.
6. Helps develop, maintain and assess internal controls related to Gilead’s accounting and financial reporting systems.
7. Interacts successfully with non-financial personnel as well as with internal and external auditors.
8. A champion for the Shared Services philosophy for Finance.
9. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - the ability to work effectively across multiple functions and different cultures.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
1. Part of newly qualified Accountant or person with equivalent experience with a fundamental understanding of what it takes to operate within a multi-country RTR environment in a multi-national corporation.
2. Experience of Intercompany processes within SAP is desirable.
3. Strong knowledge of SAP is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, and Word) is required.
4. Experience of operating within a Shared Service Center in a multi-country corporate environment is an advantage.
