Site Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Site Engineer to join our team, working on various projects across the UK and Ireland.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Conduct level surveys of the area before commencing work.
* Verify setting out and finished levels for boundary walls, foundations, trial pits, and other structures.
* Contact engineers to inspect the ground with at least 24 hours' notice.
* Check formation levels to ensure excavation reaches virgin ground.
* Take photographs before lean mix installation.
* Verify that foundations are poured to the correct level, especially at sole plate locations.
* Provide gridline and datum information for trade setting out.
* Perform setting out checks for block work.
* Verify drawings for penetrations in block work below ground floor slab.
* Inspect services, insulation, and Radon installation, taking photographs as necessary.
* Invite engineers to inspect reinforcement before concrete ground floor slab (for suspended slabs only) with 24 hours' notice if possible.
* Take photographs of reinforcement before concreting.
* Set out scaffolding.
* Perform setting out for landscaping and garden walls.
* Liaise with project managers.
* Ensure all photographs are uploaded to the database daily or weekly.
* Manage paperwork and control documents.
* Conduct tree protection inspections and register results.
* Complete as-built surveys.
* Perform timber frame quality assurance, verticality, line checks, levels, structural opening checks externally and internally, and fire stopping measures.
* Verify temporary works design checks and inspections.
* Conduct cut and fill and terracing level surveys before and after construction.
* Distribute and check drawing registers, contractors' revision status, etc.
* Action engineers' site inspection reports and comments.
Requirements:
Due to expansion, we are looking for a permanent Site Engineer to join our experienced team led by hands-on Directors. The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
