Location: Irish Sport HQ, National Sports Campus, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, with scope for hybrid working.
We are looking for an efficient and enthusiastic person to join the Mountaineering Ireland team in the role of Hillwalking and Environment Officer.
The Role
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, competent and proactive in prioritising and completing a wide range of tasks and projects. The role offers scope for learning and development within a growing organisation, that is focused on enabling responsible participation in hillwalking, climbing and mountaineering, while also caring for the places and environment in which we enjoy our activities.
Key elements of this role
Responsibilities shall include but are not limited to the following:
* Working closely with both the Hillwalking Development and Club Officer and the Access and Conservation Officer to support these key areas of Mountaineering Ireland’s work.
* Organising workshops, events and programmes, and promoting these on social media.
* Developing relationships with volunteers, training providers and external partners.
* Acting as an ambassador for Mountaineering Ireland and representing the organisation professionally.
General Responsibilities
* Producing reports, dealing with correspondence and attending relevant meetings.
* Assisting in managing all financial aspects of the role and preparing, monitoring and managing budgets effectively.
* Minute-taking for committee and sub-group meetings.
* Other tasks which may be required in the support of Mountaineering Ireland’s work as designated by line management.
