Lead Trainer
What is this role about?
Due to continued, controlled growth, Vertiv are now seeking to recruit a motivated Lead Trainer to join our team. Reporting to the Production Managers this new position will help to support the continual upskill of production-based employees across the three factories.
What kind of work will you be doing?
Manage a team of internal and external trainers, ensuring delivery of high-quality training while maintaining a strong focus on excellence in programme execution.
Consult with the Production Managers to identify training shortfalls within each team, to enhance efficient production.
Draw up overall training plans to suit these business needs in line with operatives’ personal development.
Create accurate and comprehensive course material to support each training plan.
Utilise various instructional methods and media to achieve training objectives.
Undertake ownership and maintain accurate Training Matrices.
Develop a training / induction program for relevant production roles for new employees.
Coordinate and deliver training programmes as and when required.
Promote and expand learning and development opportunities across production.
Actively get involved in corrective action follow-ups when applicable.
The training will consist of elements of Electrical, mechanical and EHS when required.
Complete personal training plans and appropriate sign offs on relevant production tasks/ times, within agreed weeks / months of training period.
Liaise with Production Managers / Supervisors to assess and identify training needs and objectives, update departmental training matrices accordingly.
Where required, develop full work instructions for production methods, machines / various tasks, and any other related functions.
Keep accurate electronic records on TMS database and hard copy in individual training files.
Produce monthly updates on individual training provided. On yearly basis provide end of year report in all training delivered against targets set.
Where necessary liaise with either training providers / or suppliers to arrange any specialised training on their specific products.
Undertake continuous personal development in line with changing business needs i.e. training courses etc.
Essential Criteria
Possess computer proficiency including good familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and databases.
Effective communication skills
Can effectively manage key stakeholders
Desirable Criteria
Training background within switchgear or similar role with external organisations.
Experience within an Electrical or Mechanical environment.
