Our Asset Development team identifies and develops new investment opportunities on behalf of ESB's Generation & Trading business unit. This involves bringing projects from concept stage through to financial investment decision.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee assessment and development of new business opportunities on both greenfield and brownfield sites, applying new technologies and assessing acquisition opportunities.
• Ensure commercial rigour is brought to each project, with a focus on land and local stakeholder engagements.
• Promote 'ESB Does Things Right' and develop projects within the community.
• Assess new project land opportunities and optimise value to ESB.
• Foster strong team culture and open communication within the project team and throughout Asset Development.
• Build and manage stakeholder relationships, including developing community engagement strategies and interfacing with utility system operators.
• Act as project representative for development projects as required.
• Deliver projects in line with ESB's internal project management methodologies, achieving consistent high standards of output from the project team.
• Ensure effective project tracking datasets are kept up to date and continually assess, report, and manage project risks in line with ESB's governance systems.
• Assist in developing business cases for assigned projects and identify lessons learned for future development projects.
• Stay informed on evolving energy and market policies to provide advice on implications for dispatchable energy industry.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
• Knowledge and experience in developing Energy Projects.
• Understanding of Planning and Environmental Consenting processes.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and management.
• Strong analytical skills to assess projects and ability to summarise key parameters.
• At least 7 years postgraduate experience and knowledge of Power Generation industry and market conditions.
• Understanding of Electrical and Legal requirements associated with grid connections.
• Negotiation skills, particularly with Landowners on Leases, Wayleaves, and Easements.
Qualifications:
• Primary Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Project management qualification and/or other business management qualifications that complement listed knowledge, skills, and experience.
Location:
This position will be based in ESB Head Office, Lower Fitzwilliam Road, Dublin 2.
