Established in 1917, Leopardstown Park Hospital, located in the picturesque suburb of Foxrock in South County Dublin has a unique heritage with a proud tradition of providing care to older persons.

With 120 inpatient beds and 7 Post acute Rehab beds along with day care clients, the hospital is a public voluntary hospital run by the Leopardstown Park Hospital Board and subject to regulation by HIQA.
The Hospital is entering a new era of development and modernisation with the old infrastructure being replaced with a new hospital as part of the HSE capital plan.

Chief II Pharmacist The post holder is accountable to the Chief Executive Officer or other designated officer The Chief 11 Pharmacist will be responsible for the management of pharmacy services within Leopardstown Park Hospital. To provide a safe, efficient drug distribution service.
To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of medication dispensing.
To supervise assigned staff.
To provide Pharmacy leadership to the Interdisciplinary teams.
To develop and maintain a clinical pharmacy service.
The Pharmacist, Chief 11 has line management responsibility for the Pharmacy Department staff Candidates must, - Be a registered Pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) or entitled to be registered.
- Have at least 5 years satisfactory post registration hospital experience .
- Possess a high standard of administrative, managerial or business ability.
- Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including high standards of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office .
- Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in Health Services, as relevant to the post.
- A track record of building and maintaining positive and effective working relationships.
Age - Age restrictions shall only apply to a candidate where he/she is not classified as a new entrant (within the meaning of the Public Service Superannuation Act, 2004). A candidate who is not classified as a new entrant must be under 65 years of age.
Health - A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Character - Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
Notice Period - The minimum period of notice will be three months as set out in the contract of employment Garda Vetting - It is a requirement under HIQA that all staff will be garda vetted each candidate will be required to complete a Garda Vetting form Sick Leave - Payment of sick leave is at the discretion of management and will be in accordance with Department of Health (DoH)/ Health Service Executive (HSE) regulations.
- It is the responsibility of the employee to adhere to the protocols relating to notification of sick leave to their immediate line manager, return to work interviews etc.
Tenure The current vacancy is permanent and whole time. The post is pensionable.
A panel maybe created from which permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part time duration will be filled.
The tenure of these posts will be indicated at "expression of interest" stage.
Remuneration The Salary scale for the post is: Pharmacist, Chief II, HSE Salary scales: Point 1, 81,168, 86,657, 89,864, 93,829, 98,064, 102,447 Working Week 35 hours per week Monday to Friday.
There is a commitment to be available out of hours.
