Your new role
Reporting directly to the FC who splits their time between the hotel and another site, you will manage a team of 3 people and act as Financial Controller on the ground in the hotel.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Month end close to include preparing and posting journals, preparing prepayments and accruals and nominal ledger reconciliations.
2. Maintain Fixed Asset Register and update for all additions and disposals.
3. Preparation of monthly reports and reconciliations on Opera ledger and Excel, detailed monthly analysis and management reporting.
4. Prepare budget and review ongoing budgeting process.
5. Build relations with Heads of Departments to facilitate budget and cost discussions.
6. Review debtors ledger and creditors reconciliations.
7. Review credit card queries and approve new credit checks.
8. Review analysis of coding on purchase invoicing.
9. Maintain and update records, reports and analysis on Excel.
10. Review and approve monthly payment run.
11. Bank reconciliations.
12. Cash management.
A lot of the work is still done manually on Excel, so you will need to have strong Excel skills and be okay with manual work in some areas.
What you'll need to succeed
1. You will need to be an experienced accountant with experience in a hotel/hospitality setting in Ireland.
2. Ideally, you will have experience with Opera, Alchemy & Sage systems.
3. Very strong Excel skills - vlookups, pivots, sumif, conditional formatting, etc.
4. This is a fully office-based role, so you must be happy with this - hybrid working is not available for this role.
What you'll get in return
You will be rewarded with a salary of €75,000, but exceptional candidates with extensive hotel industry experience as an accountant will be considered with higher salary expectations. The benefits include a 20% KPI bonus, free parking, and all meals on-site are provided. You can also benefit from flexibility on the working hours. This role is lined up to take over the FC role, so career progression is on the cards here.
