Establishing dedicated Heritage Teams within local authorities is essential to safeguarding local heritage and increasing community engagement, while leveraging heritage as an asset for community development, tourism, and education. To successfully establish these teams, The Heritage Council seeks a Local Authority Heritage Teams Liaison Officer to provide administrative, organisational, and strategic support. The successful candidate will assist the Head of Climate Change in setting up Heritage Teams, ensuring efficiency, relationship management and stakeholder engagement, and alignment with broader local government objectives. The Local Authority Heritage Teams Officer will ensure that the processes of team formation, the establishment of training networks, Heritage Council grant management, heritage planning, and project execution are streamlined and effective.
