Power Electronics Firmware Engineer
European Tech Recruit are working closely with a leading EV charging solutions company, based in the county Cork area, who are looking for a talented Power Electronics Firmware Engineer to join their team.
In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize embedded firmware for EV charging products. You will collaborate closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers to deliver robust and high-performance charging solutions.
Responsibilities as Power Electronics Firmware Engineer:
* Develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware for power electronics systems within EV chargers.
* Collaborate on hardware-software integration, ensuring seamless system performance.
* Implement control algorithms and real-time applications for power management.
* Optimize firmware for performance, safety, and energy efficiency.
* Conduct debugging, validation, and system-level testing.
* Work with cross-functional teams to define firmware requirements and design specifications.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience in embedded firmware development using C/C++.
* Solid understanding of power electronics and control systems.
* Experience with microcontrollers, DSPs, or ARM-based architectures.
* Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Modbus, Ethernet).
* Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards in power electronics systems is a plus.
* Experience with EV charging systems or renewable energy products.
* Proficiency in debugging tools and hardware testing equipment.
* Knowledge of cybersecurity for embedded systems.
