Senior Production Design Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Production Design Engineer to join our busy Production Design Team.
Purpose:
To advance and optimize production product designs and improve efficiencies that will assist the company in growing in a profitable manner.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage design review and improvement projects on production products.
* Strive to standardize and reduce part count wherever possible by taking complete ownership of designs and application of standardized structure.
* Understand the complete manufacturing processes and provide engineering support to all functions as required.
* Coordinate with colleagues to support production and provide engineering information in a clear, concise manner throughout the process.
* Meet regularly with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and Design Team to ensure effective communication of information relative to potential business improvement initiatives.
* Produce project status reports and other information as required by the Management Team to inform financial, sales, and operational planning.
* Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
* Coordinate with other departments relative to Engineering Design.
* Follow all company processes relating to equipment design.
* Contribute to the company's continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
* A good standard of education (to include English and Maths) with 8 years Design experience gained in a manufacturing environment/quarry and recycling equipment or educated to degree in an Engineering discipline with 4 years Design experience gained in a manufacturing environment/quarry and recycling equipment.
* Experience developing and training Design Engineers.
* Experience with CAD & Product Design / Development.
* Experience of hydraulic systems.
* Project management experience.
* Familiar with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.
Desirable Requirements:
* Experience of electrical control systems.
* Experience of diesel engine installations.
* Solid Works or Pro/Engineer experience.
* Research and Development experience.
