Objective
1. To play a mentoring role in a dynamic Engineering team delivering daily support to the Operations team and wider business group.
2. To work with multiple Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), running 7 FMCG sites.
3. Work with the vendor helpdesk function, ticket management and reporting, to deliver best in class service to the business in order to minimize the impact of downtime to daily operations.
4. To identify opportunities to improve the processes and systems that drive the day to day operation in the primary distribution facility, Citywest, and regional depots.
5. The role will be centered on providing continuous improvement and process optimization throughout the warehouse, including but not limited to, the application and all its associated processes, workflows and functionalities while minimizing\removing all non-value added activities.
6. To work on high profile Capex and continuous improvement projects as part of multi- discipline teams
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
7. Develop an expertise in fundamental processes within the integrated warehouse management system and automated picking systems.
8. Develop an expertise on how this system is integrated with a state of the art ERP system (SAP), as well as the ASRS and Miniload systems.
9. Support the operations daily sustaining activities, ensure that the WMS performs to, and exceeds established targets
10. Support the business in all testing activities on the test WMS. Work as part of a dynamic and multi-discipline team to deliver a robust testing solution
11. Understand, analyse and eliminate reoccurring faults or bugs on the WMS
12. Liaise with facilities team on reoccurring mechanical or electrical issues on the automated crane and conveyor system.
13. System auditing and maintenance
14. Identify potential improvements to the WMS and associated processes.
15. Business and operational analysis (Capacity, efficiency, performance, etc).
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
16. Minimum Honors Degree in an Engineering discipline
17. 4-5 years prior Process engineering experience preferably in a mentoring role
18. Experience in the Pharma/FMCG sectors an advantage
19. Lean six sigma qualification an advantage
