Sales Manager About the Company:
Our client is a leading garden design, landscape build, and maintenance company with over 25 years of experience.
They work on a diverse range of projects, from residential garden designs to large-scale commercial landscapes.
As part of their growth, they have launched a 6-acre high-end plant nursery and retail centre, specializing in high-quality mature trees and perennial plants.
A key aspect of the business is developing strong relationships and collaborating with commercial referral partners, such as architects, property managers, hotels, and garden designers.
The Sales Manager will play a central role in fostering these connections and driving business growth.
Job Summary:
The Sales Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, and converting viable prospects into business opportunities across the companys main service areas: Design, Build, Maintenance, and Nursery.
Key Responsibilities:
Prospecting &
Lead Generation:
Identify and engage potential clients in line with the companys target customer personas and geographic regions within Ireland.
Business Development:
Convert leads into viable business opportunities through on-site consultations and relationship-building efforts.
Proactive Sales Activities:
Consistently execute outreach efforts, including LinkedIn networking, email campaigns, and direct calls, to develop a strong sales pipeline.
CRM Management:
Maintain and update the companys CRM (Copper) to track leads, monitor progress, and ensure accurate data management.
Sales Funnel Process:
Follow a structured sales process from initial prospecting to conversion, ensuring a smooth transition from lead to customer.
Collaboration & Reporting:
Work closely with the Managing Director, Financial Controller, and Marketing Manager, providing regular updates and weekly sales reports on activity, pipeline development, and conversion rates.
Team Support:
Contribute to the success of the business by assisting team members and participating in company-wide initiatives as needed.
Key Requirements:
Sales Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years in a similar role, with experience in the horticulture industry preferred.
Industry Knowledge:
Previous sales experience in Ireland or the UK, ideally within landscaping, garden design, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) and prior experience using a CRM system.
Independence & Initiative:
Ability to work autonomously while also contributing as a team player.
Communication Skills:
Strong, honest, and straightforward communication style with a positive and professional demeanor.
Attitude & Work Ethic:
Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable with a strong ability to build and maintain client relationships.
