Responsibilities:
* Prepare and manage purchase requisitions and create purchase orders for materials.
* Request quotations from suppliers and analyse offers to ensure the best value.
* Monitor material delivery to ensure timely arrival and resolve any delays.
* Generate weekly reports highlighting any material shortages or potential delays, and take action to resolve issues as needed.
* Collaborate with suppliers to ensure delivery schedules are met and address any performance concerns.
* Participate in supplier meetings to review and improve delivery performance.
* Coordinate with planning teams to ensure production orders are scheduled efficiently and materials are available when needed.
* Manage the organisation of shipments, including coordinating collections and deliveries with suppliers.
* Enter order confirmations and shipping details into the system once acknowledgement is received.
* Maintain accurate records of all transactions and material movements.
* Request technical drawings from suppliers when necessary for manufacturing.
Requirements:
* 2+ years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is highly beneficial.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills for working with suppliers.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
