Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Manufacturing Buyer Planner to join our team in Ballina, Ireland. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials and planning production schedules to ensure efficient manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
1. Analyze and forecast material requirements based on production schedules and market demand
2. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials
3. Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to optimize costs
4. Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to minimize excess stock while preventing stockouts
5. Collaborate with production teams to create and adjust manufacturing schedules
6. Utilize ERP systems to manage purchasing, inventory, and production planning processes
7. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
8. Prepare and analyze reports on purchasing activities, inventory levels, and production schedules
9. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
10. Participate in cross-functional teams to address supply chain challenges and opportunities
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field or studying towards a degree.
2. 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or related field
3. Proficiency in supply chain management principles and practices
4. Strong knowledge of inventory control and demand forecasting techniques
5. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
7. Strong negotiation skills and ability to build relationships with suppliers
8. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
9. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
10. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production planning
11. Experience in implementing process improvements and cost reduction initiatives
12. Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements in manufacturing
