Objective
The principal objective of these posts is to participate in the development, direction, teaching, facilitation and examinations of the undergraduate teaching programme.

Contract
This appointment is available for a period of one year initially, renewable to a maximum of two further years subject to satisfactory performance.
Salary: €55,000 per annum for Clinical Lecturer (pro-rated for part-time posts)
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
* Contributing to the clinical teaching programme in the junior, intermediate and senior cycle of the four and five year teaching programmes.
* Contributing to the assessment of students in the junior, intermediate and senior cycles of the four and five year programmes.
* Liaising with heads of department and other relevant faculty members in planning, delivering and evaluating teaching programmes.
* Providing resources and communication with student groups via the RCSI virtual learning environment.
* Delivering the curriculum at assigned hospitals and RCSI campuses.
Other Responsibilities Include
* Conducting Research; Outcomes to be defined with relevant head of department.
* Performing Clinical Work on-site in RCSI Teaching Hospitals.
* Ensuring adherence to RCSI policies and procedures.
* Complying with statutory legislation and Department rules and requirements.
* Representing the best interests of the Department/RCSI at all times.
* Performing such other duties as may be required from time to time.
Candidate Specification: Essential
* Possess evidence of registration with the Irish Medical Council.
* Possess a keen interest in lecturing and interacting with undergraduate students.
* Possess excellent communication skills.
Desirable
* Previous experience using E-learning/VLE systems.
* Previous experience of teaching and assessing students in an academic environment.
* Previous experience in research.
* Completed at least 4 years of clinical experience post-internship.
* MRCPI / MRCSI or equivalent.
