The Supply Chain, Transportation Planning & Operational Excellence (EU STEP) is a team responsible for the end-to-end flow of goods from our vendors and sellers to Amazon customers all over Europe, in order to ensure a speedy and reliable customer delivery in the cheapest way possible.
The STEP organization is all about network design and tactical execution as well as cost and performance management of the full network, including long-term strategic planning and transportation contracts on a global platform.
As a Software Development Engineer, you will enable the creation of products that drive ever-greater automation, scale-ability and optimization of every aspect of transportation, lowering cost and delivering speed of execution for our customers.
You will also identify opportunities and implement changes to improve network's performance, simplify processes, and leverage existing resources.
As part of your responsibilities, you will help the design and implementation of state-of-the-art solution in transportation planning and network design, ensuring that end to end transportation strategies are streamlined and optimized.

Key job responsibilitiesDesign and develop tools to automate standardized processes and optimize trade-offs across the full decision space.Develop relationships with internal and external partner teams to enrich our collection of data.Take the lead on the design, implementation, and delivery of large-scale data solutions that have a long-term impact on our mid- and long-term strategic planning.Identify and tackle intrinsically hard problems.
Deliver artifacts that set the standard in your organization for software development, from designs to data models to implementations.Improve upon existing methodologies by developing new data sources or architecture enhancements.Conduct written and verbal presentations to share insights and recommendations to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication.Collaborate with multiple teams and have cross-team impact.Research and benchmark our technology against other competing software in the industry.
