Team Leader – Permanent Full Time
Applications are invited for the position of Team Leader in Better Deal Navan on a permanent full-time basis.
Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will provide support to the Cash & Carry Management Team to ensure the Value Centre operates in a professional, compliant, and profitable manner.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing support in the absence of the Cash & Carry Manager/Assistant Manager, and to carry out any duties as required (including key holding responsibilities).
* Communicating effectively with customers & staff ensuring queries are resolved efficiently & effectively.
* The supervision, mentoring, and training of new & existing staff.
* Assisting and growing customer sales.
* Attention to detail in all aspects – ensuring accurate, professional, and speedy processing of customers’ orders.
* Ensuring compliance with the Wholesale Standards Programme.
* Working in conjunction with Management regarding effective replenishment and stock control in line with company procedures, whilst also ensuring stock availability to meet customer needs.
* Contributing to the effective management and reduction of wastage within the branch.
* Working in conjunction with Cash & Carry Management to ensure the branch is prepared for Quarter End activities.
* Ensuring security of Cash & Carry is maintained, protecting employees and stock.
* Ensuring the effective supervision of employees in the Value Centre, as directed.
* Contributing to the operation of the branch in a customer-focused/friendly manner.
* Minimising expenditure and, where appropriate, assisting with the management of overheads.
* To undertake any other activities as required in line with operational demands.
The successful candidate will:
* Be a highly motivated self-starter.
* Have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with customers and suppliers in a professional manner.
* Have previous experience in a supervisory/management position.
* Have experience in warehouse management and stock control.
* Have experience in the licensed and/or grocery, catering trade.
* Have the ability to contribute to the management of day-to-day floor operation of the Cash & Carry, including staff, stock control, deliveries & merchandising.
* Be flexible with start/finish times and ensure operational demands are facilitated.
* Have some understanding of HACCP.
