Engineering Technician (4x Shift Cycle)
We are recruiting an Engineering Technician for a permanent role in South Dublin.
The shift pattern is a 4-Cycle Shift. You must be willing to work 2 x 12-hour days, followed by 2 x 12-hour nights, followed by 4 days off.
In this role you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, overhauling, adjusting and modifying all plant and production equipment, as well as fabricating new and replacement equipment.
As Engineering Shift Technician, you will also be involved in troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring smooth operation of the plant.
Main Responsibilities:
* Install, modify and maintain production equipment;
* Continuously improve plant operations, including reducing downtime and waste, dealing with breakdowns, carrying out overhauls as required and working to high engineering standards;
* Assist in validating new and existing equipment, including acceptance trials and debugging;
* Deal with vendors, suppliers and local engineering shops;
* Investigate customer complaints and internal quality issues and assist in drawing up improvement programmes for equipment;
* Assist with training other Engineering Technicians, new recruits and apprentices;
* Participate in company-wide continuous improvement initiatives and work in teams as required;
* Maintain recording and reporting systems on engineering-related matters;
* Utilise IT/processing systems, such as SAP;
* Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping.
Requirements:
* A good knowledge of mechanical and electronic systems associated with high-volume manufacturing equipment;
* A Third Level Qualification or National Craft Certificate, together with additional specialised training and experience;
* Relevant industrial experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment;
* Ability to apply a scientific approach to problem-solving;
* Relevant PC skills.
